4th IEEE International Conference on Applied System Innovation 2018 (IEEE ICASI 2018) will be held in Chiba, Tokyo Japan on April 13~17, 2018. It will provide a unified communication platform for researchers with a wide range of topics. The special issue on “Selected papers from IEEE ICASI 2018” invites papers with investigation about how interactive computing systems and socio-technical processes affect creativity. We cherish creativity as a wonderful aspect of human experience. Creativity is the partner of inspiration and moments when we seem to go beyond ourselves to reach new heights; it is the font of innovation. We look forward to presentations of work that include forms of validation, data about people, display on how computing environments impact Design Creativity and cognition. The data can take many forms, including qualitative, quantitative, and sensory. Special issue on “Selected papers from IEEE ICASI 2018” will present papers addressing: (1) creativity support environments (Virtual vs. Physical; Online vs. Offline), (2) studies of technology, people, creativity and cognition (3) creative works that utilize computing to engage, stimulate, and provoke human experience.

We see research on the impact of computing on creativity not as a fledgling field, in which methodologies are unknown and uncertain, but rather as having reached a relatively mature state, in which various diverse methodologies have been developed and applied. Methodologies and theories are already quite viable while they are perpetually under development. Authors will be asked to focus on the significance of the submission’s contribution with its originality and validity including quality of the presentation and the benefit others can gain from its results. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

Mathematical and Scientific Methods on Education
Educational Aspects on Design
Evaluation and Assessment of Education
Human Computer Interactions on Education
Design of Internet Technology and Application on Education
Information Visualization of Design on Education
Innovations of Technologies on Education
AI in Design and Innovation on Education
