The conference took place from 30 June – 4 July 2025, jointly by the International Research Group on Physics Teaching (GIREP), The Educational division of the European Physical Society (EPS-EPEC), and two institutes at Leiden University, The Netherlands: the Leiden Institute of Physics (LION) and the Leiden University Graduate School of Teaching (ICLON). The programme comprised plenary talks, parallel oral sessions, symposia, panel discussions, workshops, and poster sessions.
This special issue of Eurasia Journal of Mathematics, Science and Technology Education will bring together selected papers from the GIREP-EPEC 2025 conference related to the GIREP Thematic Group Teaching and Learning Quantum Physics and is created in the light of United Nations’ International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. Thus, potential contributions include, but are not limited to:
- Design and evaluation of teaching-learning sequences
- Role of mathematics in quantum physics education
- Experiments in quantum physics education
- Multiple representations in quantum physics education
- History and philosophy in quantum physics education
